American League or National League-Your Choice
In the players pool, there are 206 hitters and 121 pitchers who received cards where 4 or 5 years were associated with AL teams. There are 179 hitters and 122 pitchers who received cards where 4 or 5 years were associated with NL teams. The remaining 92 players (42 hitters, 50 pitchers) had a split of 3 years in one league and 2 in the other.
The league will consist of 6 teams made up of AL only (see definitions) players and 6 teams of NL only players. You choose your preferred league and pick players who are eligible based on the rules of the league. The Eastern Division will consist of 4 AL based players; the Western Division will consist of 4 NL based players while the Central will have 2 AL based teams and 2 NL based teams.
Definitions: Using the player cards, individuals with 4 or 5 years in their respective league will only be available to the 6 teams who chose the respective league. Example; If you choose to be in the National League pool, Fergie Jenkins will be available to you-4 of the 5 years of his mystery card years were from the Cubs. Reggie Jackson is available only to an AL team since all 5 of his seasons were from the American League. Bobby Bonds can be drafted by either an AL or NL based team since he has 3 years from the Giants and 2 years from the Angels.
Players who spent 3 years in one league and 2 in the other can play in either league.
I have an Excel sheet which details which players are designated as "AL" or "NL" only players along with those players eligible for both leagues. Please PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you the file.
Although I tried to ensure all entries on the spreadsheet aligned with the players, errors are possible. Once the league is full, the spreadsheet will be the basis for all eligibility decisions. If you see an error, please advise me as soon as possible. The error will be corrected and communicated to all league participants prior to the draft.
Your mission: Choose a league and your desired division along with your stadium when you sign up. Stadiums will be unique-once a stadium is selected, no other team can use the same stadium.
Division alignment:
East: All 4 teams are AL only players
Central: 2 teams of AL only players, 2 teams of NL only players
West: All 4 teams are NL only players
Stadium: Unique stadiums will be used-please indicate which stadium you will be using when you sign up for the league. This will be on a first come-first serve basis.
Draft: I'm open to holding a draft for the first 2 players via the draft boards if that's what the owners want. If not, an auto draft will be used-if you are assigned a player who is not eligible for your team based on your league, you must drop them prior to the start of play.

This league will use the DH

The salary cap is $80 million

Roster size: Owner discretion
Drop: 5/10/20

Trades: Players with 1 or more seasons can be traded to a team from the "other" league. You may trade 5 year AL/NL players to another respective AL/NL owner-5 year players cannot be traded to the "other" league. For example, Willie Stargell cannot be traded to an AL based team but he can be traded to another NL based team.
Free agents: The same rules noted here apply to free agents-it is the owners responsibility to ensure a player being picked up is eligible. If not, you will be asked to drop the player (and take the appropriate salary deduction) so all teams follow the same rules.

The Commish reserves the right to issue a fair/thoughtful response to any questions which may arise which require a ruling.

Sign up below and indicate which division you will be playing in along with your stadium-I will take the last position open. If you want to play in the Central, also indicate which league you will be using-remember, the Central will have 2 AL teams and 2 NL teams. Finally, please indicate if you'd prefer a two player, serpentine style draft. If so, please pick your pick 3 state. We will draft based on high to low results of the evening lotto.
