Finders Keepers Keeper League

I would disagree with splitting the divisions by salary. If a team is drafting to win this year they should not be penalized for that stratagy because chances are they are going to have a weak team in 2009 (and possible onwards). The same goes for teams drafting for next year, they should not be penalized next year. There are huge discrepencies every year in the amount major league teams spend, but they do not rearrange the divisions every year. If we want a realistic feal to this league I think we should split it 1, 4, 7, 10 and keep the divisions the same in all years to come. Just my opinion, but I will go with whatever the league decides. Maybe we should put it up to a vote.

Regards,

Dan

I agree with keeping the teams in the same division every year instead of the traditional way it is done now where they are realigned each year by records.

4) Divisional assignments will change each season. Initially, divisions will be determined in order of signup: 1-4 East, 5-8 Central, 9-12 West.
5) Divisional assignments for each subsequent season (from season one to two within calendar year and from season 2 to the following calendar year) will be determined by the final win/loss records of the previous season, with the four best teams in the East division, the following four in the Central, and the remaining four in the West.

Those are the rules. Unless we vote to change them that is what we will have to go by.

I vote to vote!!!

Plus, if everyone is playing in the same division each year maybe we can form some Redsox Yankees type rivalries. And changing stadiums to suite the division your in could be fun, especially because you can only change once every 3 years.

I vote to keep the original rules. As far as I can tell, all 3 of my opponents in the East have decent lineups for this year, but much better for '09. I'd rather play against them this year and then have them change divisions for the next one! ':D'

I like the idea of staying in the same division year after year. I can't say my beloved Blue Jays feel the same way though.

Your just saying that because you are in my division. Poor Jays. They were quite dominant in the early 90's though. I think they are building and maybe competitive in the next few years. They need to see what they can get for Haliday...and fast.

I'd like them to re-sign Halladay, but if they can't this offseason they need to trade him. We need a new GM though.

Thank you ray for quoting the rules. i just noticed that we already have aa agreement for how we do divisions, both now, and in the future.
I think we will be forming divisions any day now, and there is at least some disagreement, about how to align, so I think we should go with the stated way of choosing original divisions, 1-4 based on orginals sign up.

As for the future, Pirhala asked for a vote and he has the right to have one. On the proposal that we should change the rules and have set divisions that we change do not change from year to year.
Should we make this change?

1. litangel WI - NO
2. tcochran AZ - NO
3. thisisray NY
4. Kaviksdad WA
5. Roscodog SK(Canada)
6. Pirhala NC - YES
7. ironwill1 CT
8. RiojaDave CA
9. Rant MD
10.Terry101-NM
11. zim13 LA
12. hawk-IL

I totally see the appeal of developing rivalries, but I voted no because I think it would be very easy for a team to end up like the Pirates or the Nationals, only put in the AL East. And I think that could be too defeating, and people will leave the league. With the shifting divisions, it will be easier for a poor team to climb into contention. I like that.
So vote and we will see.
