Double Decade redo - 1972 canauscot, Jsam & RR to load

The first question for the second version of double decade is whether we have pitchers hit for the first two seasons 1971 and 1972 until the introduction of DH for 1973?

Can I get a DH or no-DH from everyone (just in regards to 71 and 72 - 73 and onwards is definitely DH).

I think LM has clarified that a Reggie Jackson type is eligible and owned by his manager until the end of his last carded 80's season, regardless of the last year on his 70's card. For a 70's palyer who becomes a 75er in the 80's, he would still be eligible and owned up through 1979 but become a free-agent for 1980 (on the typical 1 year ownership for 75's).[b:99a55b00e4][/b:99a55b00e4]

I think we should have NO DH always for this league. We've done the DH thing and NO DH would be a new twist on team building and salary distribution.

What do you say? Wanna go old school? Never a DH?

We should have BC dig up his original rules and amend them with the Never a DH rule and drafting after game 142.

Also we all need a list of who can be drafted in 1971.

I'm for a DH, 73 on. I don't care for no-DH leagues in SOM online, since you only have so much control over decisions like when a pitcher will come out of the game.

I say no DH in 71 or 72, just as it should be. I would like DH after that, however, for two reasons: 1. As BC stated, we have less control of the pitcher & when he leaves, and 2. I suck w/pitchers, and need more hitting!

They still play without the DH in the NL, but I was just offering a change to the game. This will be our third time with this type of format and I thought it would be nice to switch it up. But it looks like I will not be having any town hall meetings on the no-DH issues. I'd get over taken by a mod.

With all it's flaws, in a million years I would never trade in our health care system for yours.

A couple of years ago our public broadcaster ran a contest to find out who the "Greatest Canadian" was. The answer was Tommy Douglas -- the provincial premiere (governor) who first introduced public health care in Canada. That's how much it means to us.

Not having public health care is, to me, like being a 'third world country'.

It's sad to see how effectively the right-wing zealouts in the US can still steal the political agenda.

If Obama can implement a real public health care system, he will be remembered as one of your greatest presidents, for this alone. I'm hoping he can pull it off but it looks uncertain.
