I don't even really have a big problem with Casey Blake(can do a little of everything) or Jammie Carroll(great defense, good OBP), but I just think you could really pimp that lineup out, if you were to let go of Albert Pujols, Roy Halladay,.. or both. It seems to me, that you may pick your team based on some of your favorite guys;..there is nothing wrong with that, I am sure we all do it to some degree,...BUT you have to decide; do you want a team full of your favorite guys? Or do you want to win a championship?
And by the way, even if you break the team up, get rid of Pujols and Halladay, to make the team deeper, and possibly stronger, there is still no guarantee you will be successful,... but I have found I have more fun playing a 96 win playoff team, then I do a mediocre team filled with my favorite players.
My opinion, Never spend more than 9 million on a single player(80 million cap). Spread that money around. Balanced teams with long lineups usually make the playoffs. Who wants a late 1980s Cubs team with an MVP Andre "The Hawk" Dawson, and a last place finish. Give me the complete team that is still playing when most teams have been eliminated.
Good luck no matter what you decide, its all about having fun.
