Pinch Running nighmare

Pinch Running nighmare

All of a sudden (after the half way point of the season) Hal pinch runs for Hornsby in every series. That never happened the first half of the season. Given that Hornsby can't get injured, I don't have a 2b. So, Hal puts an OF in at 2b. I don't even have a PR selected in the manager settings. Is there a way to make Hal stop????????  :?

This has happened to me also. I have had to drop good bench players like Bobby Brown, Al Bumbry, etc. because Hal would use them as pinch runners for a great hitter but maybe slow runner. This could be easily fixed if in manager settings, we could check a box, do not pinch run for this player.

Fascinating. I do not recall this ever happening to me before. I wonder if you have aggressive or very aggressive base running checked in managerial strategies, and that is why HAL is doing this?

base running is set to conservative
base stealing is set to extra conservative

I have not changed those settings all season. This is why I am confused by the sudden change.

This happened to me once too. Figured it was a fluke. After one of my teams had played over 100 games, HAL pinch runs, in the same game for Gehrig and yaz. Niether had a pinch runner the entire season. The situation didn't call for a pinch runner at the time cuz it was still early in the game and the score wasn't that narrow a margin. Didn't happen after that. Was just one of those weird HAL moments. :?
