Not sure what to tell you there. Papelbon is too pricey for my blood!

You might want to broadcast via league email. There are a lot of teams making moves (stupidly).

Well, we sort of backed in too. Started resting guys after Sandoval went down with a 15 gamer with about 27 to play. He didn't play again until the playoffs tonight. We also sat Span and Gordon the last two series. I'm sure that had some impact on our finish, but we got through with only losing Cancel for the first two tonight.

Of course, the Birds started to LHPs tonight, but we lucked into a couple of high scoring wins including one in Extras. Neither team will have a pen for the next game. It will be interesting to watch with Sheets against J Johnson.

Ugh, well, we lost two at HOME tonight with pitching matchups that certainlyfavored us. Game one was just a classic unlucky SOM game where Johnson throws a 2 hitter and Sheets gets lit up, but game 2 is the killer we lose 4-3 by leaving 15 F'ING guys on base!! Including getting the first two guys on in the 9th only to see Reyes, Loney and Butler get out. Brutal

We have a GREAT match up in game 5. Lowe against Pelfrey, but the way this usually works, Pelfrey will tap dance through our line up and we'll lose.

To be fair, the birds are a very good hitting team, but to live 15 guys on and lose by one really hurts. Ugh.

Blah, I hate the playoffs. It comes down to luck so often. I mean, come on, he hit .309 against us for the series. His hitting isn't *that* good. :( Comes down to getting the splits and rolling on your card which he did 58% of the time int he last game. We posted a 7.66 ERA. That's just stupid bad luck. Heck, he doesn't hit .309 if he rolls on his card on every at bat.

In the mean time, against one of the worst staffs (and well below average D) in the league, with the third best offense in the league, we hit .262 and Pelfrey and a host of mediocre RPs out pitch Lowe and Shell. Losing Crisp for the last three games (after wining the first two) didn't help any as Maier went 1-14 in his stead. :(

But, that's the playoffs for you. The best team often doesn't win and that's just SOM in a short series.

Oh well, on to the next league. GL in the finals. May the best team win.
