Doc Halladay & 2b E Buriss for Tim Hudson & O Hudson?

Curious...would anyone trade $9M [b:db3b673d40]Doc Halladay [/b:db3b673d40](S7* of course) & $1.3M 2b/ss E Buriss (2b:2e20) for: the Hudsons--Tim & Orlando, each $5 1/2M?

I have Dr & Buriss in Dodger St. (neutral park HR 1-12/1-9) Doc is 5-4, 2.78, low whip. Buriss hitting only .235 but 4 HRs, 11/14 SBs still quite early in season.

Tim Hudson is 5-3 & Orlando H is hitting well over .300 (when he plays).

Thats just it. Id trade Doc for Tim H if Hudson had the * a/o if ODog was less than a 3 inj.

Im guilty as charged for even suggesting this trade to my opponent b/c hes a div foe! Cmon trading a stud SP like Halladay is 1 thing but you dont do it within your div!

I only considered it b/c I read somewhere that while hes done well in most lgs he hadnt been "dominant" at least for 1 mgr out there.

I cautioned I was just throwing this out there, it wasnt a [i:db3b673d40]formal [/i:db3b673d40]offer, just "musing" if you will, "thinking out loud".

By the way, he said he'd "do the deal". I replied I was still deliberating b/c I love Odog's 1 at 2b & hes a "S"--too bad he cant steal & is a 3 inj & that Tim Hudson has no *.

Bottom line...I just cant trade Doc within the div thats suicide. Besides me having to face Doc, my opponent would have the upper hand trying to overtake the 1st place team. (Im 2nd, the opponent Id trade with is 3rd).

Add irony to this scenario--why would I want to trade Doc I was lucky enough to land him in AD as I had him #2 (I always lose out on Tim Lincecum) & I lande dmy #1 in catcher Joe Mauer. I had him on my original draft list, Id be nuts to trade him...unless he unravels. :D

I would not make the trade simply because I would think it would mess up your rotation. I assume you have 3 other SP*? That would make Hudson gets used a lot less frequently. Plus, if you make the playoffs, Halladay is the kind of guy want pitching multiple times.

1st, actually no I dont have a 4 man rot.

My #2 SP in AD who I kept was[b:24d58a92e7] Joba Chamberlain [/b:24d58a92e7]who is 4-2 (Halladay is 5-4) w/ a sub 3 ERA even lower than Doc's so far. I have Beckett ('08 whip of 1.19), #3 SP.

However, your 2nd pt is exactly what I started to think about more n more--its not enough to win your div & make the playoffs...having a stud S7 w/ that all impt * like Doc thats the difference if youre to go anywhere in playoffs.

I just feel bad now that I even suggested a [i:24d58a92e7]potential[/i:24d58a92e7] trade to my rival; mainly b/c I inquired earlier about ODog for 2b but at that early stage I certainly wasnt suggesting, let alone offering, Halladay.

Even though "S" 2b E Buriss hasnt hit for avg consistently, hes shown surprising power ("N" pwr vs RHs & he has 4 HRs), is swift on bases & stealing (11/14)--quite the bargain at $1.31M given his 2 range, real life avg (.287), OB% (.367). Also, I love $4M 4L Ron Belliard Buriss' platoon partner vs LHSPs, who's batting ~.300 w/ HR sock so Ill stick w/ that keystone duo not to mention Doc! Thank you again AeroDave!
