Using Aaron in Royals stadium, mistake?

Using Aaron in Royals stadium, mistake?

Postby guardian154 » Sun Mar 12, 2006 11:19 am

It's still early in the season, but I'm 1-8 at home,6-3 onthe road. I have Alou, Cuyler and Aaron in the OF. There is County 82, Ebbets 53 and Polo 11 in the division. Should I let things as they are or is there a tweak I can do to improve this team.

Thanks in advance

I don't think Aaron is a problem--he's leading your team in rbi's and has a decent average that will pick up a bit. You have a decent team--I would not make any moves (besides getting a 2b who can hit the ball).

You should be more concerned over a lot of other players before you worry about Aaron.

I was thinking about moving Aaron for Clemente and freeing up some money to upgrade other positions, but that sounds like a mistake.

Please don't take offense, but you & I are in another league together. Your drop/add penalties there have taken you down to a $69M cap team (in an $80M league.) You can't win that way.
The biggest thing you need to learn is patience. Diamonddope & ask for board assistance in the preseason, but after opening day, put the brakes on.

Here's a message I put out in a league where my team is called "Lots of Patience". It's a general message that could give you some insight....

Lots of Patience...with over 400 leagues in my resume it's way to early to be concerned. Sit back and mess with your lineups, settings, manager strategy and see where you are at about the 45-50 game mark. If you starting to crash before that point then look for trades with teams "out of your division" that may have a player not performing up to the card's potential. The park you're in means everything so mix and match. If you want to drop a player then do so with as little effect on $ value as possible. 70M teams have trouble hanging with 80M teams. HAL will frustrate everyone throughout the season so that's just part of the game. Remember it's a computer that gets everyone angry. The real HAL is having dinner on us in some gourmet restaraunt in NY...lol... Good luck and have fun. This game is a diversion for me. Real life has way to much stress so enjoy....Bobby

I have read that post before...but I think it's probably some sort of disorder or psychosis that I have, that causes me to adjust things... I will work on being more patient...

Bobby and the boys are right. Wait try to be patient. I have seen players with the stature of Duke Snider, Tris Speaker etc. hit .275 with minimal stats to go with their talents. Then they go crazy with hits, homers and rbi's and at the end of the year they are pretty much where they should be. It's a verrryyy long year!!

In addition if you have eight regulars playing every day one or two will under perform and one or two will over perform. The trick is that you have a team of players made up of individual talents.
