Format Outline for New Managers

Postby joeoc » Tue Sep 01, 2009 8:44 am

OK, lottery draw for draft position will be Wednesday, 9/9/09

Slow draft will last from 9/10/09 thru 9/18/09.......no clock.....would like a minimum of six picks, max of eight. We have a stadium round to fill time left between Slow and Quick drafts

Quick Draft, Friday 9/18/09 @7:30 EDT.......you will need about three and half hours of free time to quick draft and load team for a Monday 9/21/09 Opening Day

All League rules are posted at the beginning of this Chat Thread, check them out and if there are any questions please post. :)

Problem... I will not be able to make the Quick Draft on 9/18... I am going out of state to South Dakota for a wedding... come back that Sunday and off to Texas for two weeks... if this is going to cause a problem, I guess you can try to get somebody else to take my place... I hate holding this league up... Chris

Chris, my first instinct is to tell you to take a laptop to the wedding, but barring that, You could leave Joe or myself a proxy list by round and Joe could load your team for you. He's done that in the past for a number of different managers including myself. That way you don't lose your seat in the league. Both of us are always by the phone draft night as well if needed. Just a thought!

Wish I had a laptop... problem is, when I go to Texas, I'm in the woods for two weeks... no electricity or web access... can't load or adjust my team... will try to figure something out... :?

I thought Texas had the Internet, electricity, indoor plumbing, all that stuff -- at least since 2000.

When you are camping in the National Forest and it is 30+ miles to the nearest town... there's not much of electricity and such... in fact, there is not much of anything around except water and critters... and no telling what kind of critters you will run into... in fact, we have a hard time getting a signal on the cell phones... we camp in Texas, except the radio tower is stationed in Louisiana... the signal has to travel accross Toledo Bend lake... can't wait... no phones, no TV, no work, no worries... except the SOM teams...

Snakes! I'll bet there are snakes! I hate snakes! I told Jon (traderj) this video was him last time he went camping. Perhaps it may apply to your trip as well! :P

Snakes (Copperheads, Rattlers, Water Moccasin etc)... there's also Spiders (Tarantulas, black Widows and a bunch of other scary ones...)... but you know what, I would not miss this trip for nothing... this will make my 33 year to attend... it is the same place and the same time every year... it is just a guy thing, all the wives and girlfriends are not allowed... it was started by three brothers, some 40+ years ago... we have one family that has four generations that attends... we normally have anywhere from 50 to 70 people that attend... the grampa (92 years old)... can run circles around most 30 to 40 year olds... he's roofing and pounding nails... tough old dude... he did not make it last year, account of staying at home with his new girlfriend... ... hope I make it that long... anyway can't wait for the alchol and cards to fly... 8-)
