Well, first let me say I'm VERY disapointed in my team's performance from season 1 to season 2. From 91 wins to 74, without changing anything other than a whole season of Span, instead of half. VERY suprised/disappointed at the results.
That said my outlook for next year is pretty solid in position players, on a 5 point scale 1 being worst and 5 best:
C Ianetta/Pierzynski - 3 1/2
1b Youklis, Morales. Kotchman - 4 1/2
2b Utley - 5
3b Wright, Beckham - 4 1/2
ss Reyes Harris - 1
LF Span - 4
CF Ellsbury/Rowand - 4
RF Hawpe - 3 1/2
Bench Dn.Murphy, C. Gomez, Seth Smith. Dlm Young - 2
Clearly I'll be after a SS and maybe looking to ad power bat to the OF.
Pitching is a whole different ball of wax though
Only Jackson, Jurrjens and Feldman look above average, Kazmir, Zambrano and Porcello are okay but not dominate and I have more tham enough injured guys to keep a medical staff busy with Duchscherer, A. Sanchez, and Volquez all being lost causes next year.
The Bullpen is what it is. I always feel lucky if I get 2 good years out of a bullpen guy so I'm always looking at rebuilding there, but if Feliz keeps going the way he is for Texas and gets a card, he'll be eating most of my relief innings if I can get HAL to comply.
But I'll need a closer too so SS Closer and pitching will be my targets of the ofseason/draft- Just something to keep in mind if you are lokking to make a deal with me.
