Sykes alert: Do you want to swap stadium and draft picks?

Postby Outta Leftfield » Fri Sep 16, 2005 8:37 am

Sykes,

Do you want to swap my 2nd Stadium pick for your 4th player draft pick? The first pick has already chosen Dodger, so you're sure to get your choice of stadium if we make the swap. You would assume my player draft position and I would assume your stadium draft position.

Note to all: I'm making this suggestion because Sykes went for a similar deal in the first version of this league. If I don't hear from Sykes in a reasonable time, I'll go ahead and make my stadium pick. Sorry for the delay. I also sent him a PM on this point.

I didn't know there was an option to swap picks. I definitely would of offered my #1 pick. I didn't ask because I thought this would have slowed things down (and it wasn't it listed in the rules).

I think you can swap anything you can get someone to take. I don't really see a huge run on the stadium picks, although some have preferred stadiums. That being said, I just made a trade with Sykes in another league and he indicated that he wouldn't have computer access until after noon.

Stadiums

Postby LMBombers » Fri Sep 16, 2005 9:09 am

Maybe it is because I am a relative newbie to the 80's game but I don't see where the stadium pick is that big of deal. I don't see any one stadium that is that much different than the others to cause an advantage. I haven't even decided if I would be better off in a hitter's park, pitcher's park or more of a neutral park for this league. I am glad I have a low stadium pick so that I can see what kinds of stadiums are being selected before I have to pick. I am glad I have a high stud pick rather than a high stadium pick myself.

Anyway I am very much looking forward to this league :!:

Does swapping draft positions (if it should occur) mean that managers change divisions also? I would expect that divisions are set and not to be changed if draft spots are swapped at this point, but thought I would ask.
