This Pujols bidding is so intense, I feel bad for the guy with the second highest bid, I mean he gets nothing. I say we give the runner up for Albert, a Luis Pujols card (Al's cousin), it could be in Luis's STUD year, 1981, when he hit .239 (with a .309 slugging pct.)

What would ya think about the possibility of having two seperate bidding threads-one for pitching and one for hitting?

Duplicate bids

Postby gorshar » Tue Oct 06, 2009 8:35 pm

Okay, as de facto commissioner I'm laying down the law:

A bid is a bid. If it's duplicate or otherwise invalid in any way, so be it then, it doesn't count. Nobody is to assume what you meant. The first highest bid is the highest bid and if it stands unchallenged for 24 hours (site outages notwithstanding) the player is awarded to the *first* highest bid. Duplicate or otherwise invalid bids are the responsibility of the bidder to correct and no one else. Though simple gamesmanship would dictate we might point each others' errors out, the failure for someone to do so does not in any way change the invalidity of a bad bid. Site outages are not an excuse because your bid is there to see and amend from the moment you post it.

That's it. Done.

sorry, but one last bit of forensic protest on closing lincicum.
here's the time stamp on the original bidding thread, which clearly is where I looked for him and had been participating in bidding...

i THINK lincicum just closed, otherwise I bid 14.3.

here's the time stamp and bids including winning bid on thread i didn;t realize existed, but had they been made on original thread, I would have been well within time...
