Looking for opinions on Candiotti, Sutcliffe, Stewart, Boddicker, Hough, Morris, Witt and Sanderson.
Thanks in advanced.

"Candiotti, Sutcliffe, Stewart, Boddicker, Hough, Morris, Witt and Sanderson"

Don't really remember seeing Sutcliffe, Morris or Sanderson do well, Personally, I love using Witt.

This is the 80's though so every pitcher has the opportunity to be Cy Young once in a while.

Sttcliffe, Witt and Morris can be good. Sutcliffe is worth a chance for '84. Witt the best value, Morris runs hot nd cold.

Hough will drive you crazy and be a .500 pitcher. You can get .500 cheaper. he can also do well.

Sanderson, Witt and Gullikson seem to to better.

Stewart, Bodicker and Candiotti last resorts.

I personally have not used Sutcliffe, but he has fared very well in two of the last three leagues I have been in.

Although he's far from popular, I have had very good luck with Candiotti in two different seasons. His WHIP is pretty high for his price range, but he's pretty consistent from year to year, generally gives up few homers, and is a reverse platoon pitcher in most seasons. These positives, plus the fact that he's generally available, might make him worth a try.

OPINIONS ON BUD BLACK?

Postby hechojazz » Tue Mar 14, 2006 6:49 pm

How 'bout Bud Black? I've got him as my #2 guy (see link below), and he's just getting hammered (0-3 in 6 starts, with an ERA of 10.56, a WHIP of 2.00 and only 10 Ks in 23 innings pitched). He's gone from most starts early, so his IPs are low compared to his rotation mates. I'm only 24 games into the season, so I am trying to be patient. In fact, Black's numbers are so bad, I can't even begin to try to figure out which year of his I got - nothing nearly so bad appears to be set forth on his cards! So any comments on how he generally does in this game would be appreciated (my first 80s team here).

I have Morris myself at the moment and hes been lights out all season. I am at Royals stadium however but he has been solid at home and on the road. Posting a 1.62 ERA so far in 9 games and 55 IP. Im pretty much a rookie though at strato so dont take my word as gospel.
