I think we are in agreement about prospects, as long as we define MLB experience is has (or had) a strat card, are we are on the same page?

[quote:44d9948950="cshannajr"]To keep the prospect specifically defined, I think we need to keep as players who have NO MLB experience prior to the current MLB season who is signed by an MLB team prior to the start of the current season.

Those who would be available for our first prospect draft would be Matt Wieters, Chris Coghlan, Rick Porcello, etc...

[b:44d9948950]It has nothing to do with having had a strat card[/b:44d9948950]. Any player who has pitched an inning or had and AB prior to this 2009 season is unavailable to draft. Players like Carptenter would not be available like cshannajr stated. Someone like David Price would also be unavailable since he pitched in the 2007 season. He would be available in the spring FA draft this up coming spring.

Each player will have to do their own research on who has and has not had prior MLB experience. But, I will make sure the prospect picks are compliant. It's not that hard, just go to ESPN's MLB site and pull up a player. It shows his current season stats and career stats in the same section. If they are the same...he had no prior MLB experience before this year. If the player doesn't even come up, he either didn't play this year at all or in the past.

I don't like this choice, I don't think it makes sense to not count someone as a prospect because they came up for a short injury fill-in or a September call up, but i will go along with it.

Most of the leagues I'm in consider a prospect to be a player with no MLB experience prior to the current MLB season. It's worked pretty well so far.
Keeping injury guys like Carpenter out of the prospect draft tends to add value to the following spring's Free Agent draft. I like how this tends to balance the talent pool from year to year.

I put a page out for the three guys we are waiting on to confirm their participation in the league. If they don' t respond by Friday, we will start looking for replacements. I have one replacement waiting to jump in, but I want to give everyone who signed up plenty of time to check in.

I think a week is pretty long. If they aren't checking the boards regularly do we really want them in the league anyways?

Good point...For this league to work, we are going to need active members. I sent them PMs quite a long time ago and none have even been read yet. What do you suggest?
