BLATANT Cheating???? - REVISED II

Postby RICHARDMILTER » Tue Oct 13, 2009 10:45 am

Without stereotyping any professions or groups, breaking the rules is by definition cheating. PERIOD! Anyone who tries to defend breaking rules has questionable morals at BEST! Especially for a game like Strat.

Stand for something or fall for anything. Oops too late..........

Where is the controversy? If you break the rules knowingly you have cheated.

Who besides Bernie Made Off could disagree with this?

Regardless, even if every player gets an okay card, this is not--by rule--cheating.

Coyote, my interest in the game is to play within the spirit of the rules. Loopholes are for attorneys, and while FAaron (an attorney) is one of my favorite managers to play against (hi Fred) it doesn't have a place here, in my opinion (albeit not the popular one).[/quote:4591ab740d]

Now you know what it's like to be a Royals fan. We think your darn Yankees always start above the salary cap!

And next time be sure to name me as one of your favorite managers too!

I gotta say, when I first read the post, I thought "yeah, that guy should drop his roster to be within the salary cap". But, HE did not break the rules by drafting over the salary cap, the game had a glitch.

As I think someone(s) may have pointed out, it's also unfair to that manager to make him shuffle his roster to drop below the cap, since the game engine screwed up why should he be left rummaging through scraps that everyone else has already picked over? Now he's stuck having to drop valuable players to get under $100M, when all the better replacements are already on other teams.

My thoughts are that the draft should have been re-run. It should have been demanded by the league to TSN.

The current situation is unfair to the 11 other managers right now, and unfair to the 1 manager over the cap if he is forced to manipulate his roster after the fact.

I reserve the right to act like my 3 year old daughter if I choose!!!!

It is a complete load that the auto-draft can't fill in empty roster spots and keep each team under the cap, EVEN in $60 mil leagues which this wasn't. There were pages of .75 cent players available after the draft and a team could have easily been built under the cap.

How can anyone seriously believe that it isn't possible to fill out the roster under the cap in a 12 team league. RIDICULOUS. You guys really buy that? C'mon now....

Go think up some new theme league would you already and get out of my temper tantrum thread. I'm sure there some variation of 3rd letter in the first name concatenated with birthday divided by number of broken bats per season that you missed somehow!

BTW, "The Machine: A Hot Team, a Legendary Season, and a Heart-stopping World Series: The Story of the 1975 Cincinnati Reds" is a great read so far Paul, about 100 pages in, terrific. Thanks!!

Obviously if the manager who is over the cap, does not realize it, or is (God Forbid) in the hospital he is not cheating. But if a manager is over the cap and aware of it, he should fix it. I really do not see the controversy.....But maybe I am thick.
