Hi there...

First of all, LMBombers is correct on several points. A team going over the cap (I think especially in the Mystery Card games) is not as much a glitch as it is a by-product of the draft system. I'm not trying to spin it - I admit it's not a desirable one - but there was no technical malfunction. The draft ran out of $750K players and had to award higher-priced ones.

We don't suspend leagues automatically when there is a team over the cap because in practice, most of the time people don't care. Maybe it's because of what LMBombers said - it's not necessarily an advantage - but for whatever reason, the number of inquiries we get about it are a tiny percentage of the times it happens.

The fact that you care about it matters, of course, so I'm going to uphold the precedent that we've set, and that is to instruct the manager in question to get under the cap. He won't be charged any free agent penalties, because it wasn't his fault it happened.

I hope this is a satisfactory answer and course of action.

Bernie, I need to apologize for my friend Rob's outburst. He gets a little carried away at times, usually after an evening spent with his buddy Boone's Farm.

Last time I visited Rob I snapped this shot of him hard at work on his PC. He had just polished off a bottle of Boone's that very evening!

Thanks Rob. Your quip about my middle initial/hangnail on left foot league ideas was pretty funny too.

Why was latorrer's last post deleted? He mentioned his involvement with SOM netplay. I would think this would be and acceptable post. There was no profane language, no ill intent toward others, no malice.

Anyone care to respond? Bernie? Moderators?

I deleted that post by mistake. After clicking on the link I thought it was advertising some other online baseball game website which would not be appropriate. Turns out is was simply SOM netplay. Shoot me, not Bernie or TSN. I should have been much more careful before deleting. I am very sorry to latorrer and the community for doing this. I only try to cut spam, not anyting SOM related.
