I suppose they will. I really don't like this is no DH. I wish I had noticed before I signed up. Too many good hitters forced to sit out, especially in a large cap league.

The cap is irrelevant in a league like this. If you add up the top 24 x 30 = 720 players, you get total salaries of $1,908,360,000. This means that each team's [b:a41bb8d01a]30-player[/b:a41bb8d01a] roster would average just [b:a41bb8d01a]$79,515,000[/b:a41bb8d01a] in salaries.

Yes, $200,000,000 is set intentionally by TSN so as not to create limits. If you choose it you're choosing an unlimited league for all intents & purposes.

I also missed that this is a non-DH league. Glad I didn't draft a pure DH though Zobrist was going to play there this year. And I agree, I wish I had seen & voted on it as a non-DH league with this many teams does relegate some awfully good players to PH status.

Ok where's Terry, let's get this thing back on the road! :P

I don't remember there being a vote for or against DH, but to be honost, I didn't read all the fine print. If the league creator stated in the league rules that it is a no dh league, and wants to keep it that way, then so be it. Otherwise I say open it up for (another?) vote. It sounds like there is sizeable number that would be prefer a DH, enough to at least make the results of a vote fairly close.

DH/no DH

Postby cshannajr » Sun Oct 18, 2009 11:02 am

Here is a quote from tcochran regarding the DH. This was posted on the main SOM message board early in the discussions on the league.

"Yes, a non-DH league would make the most sense, because you would have to find fewer quality batters for each team.

You would also be more likely to be able to locate back-ups, too:
... 499 hitters / 24 teams / 9 in lineup = 2.30 per position
... 499 - 6 DH only = 493; 493 / 24 teams / 8 in lineup = 2.57 per position"

Around that time I asked for everyone's thoughts regarding the DH. Only 6 of us had chimed in the entire time we were discussing this league. We had one vote FOR the DH (litangel). Rant, Kaviksdad, tocochran, riojadave and I were all in favor of a NO-DH league.

I think, since we have already started the draft and rules clearly state it is a non-DH league, it would be unfair to change it at this point. I know I certainly would have drafted differently if it was going to be a DH league.

I agree it is too late to go back now and change to DH, regardless

Qk - love the C. Gonzalez pick. I actually had him #1 on my proxy list, so I'm disappointed he didn't make it back to me. I was worried you'd snag him.
