I think Litangel will also be there with lowest salary for the year. He's also looking at next year and beyond, and has taken a couple of guys I really really really wanted.

yeah Qk and KD, I think we're working from the same scorecards because you've each gotten my next hoped for guy at least once. I've also found that Ray has gotten a couple of guys I had on my radar too.

The way some guys have drafted, I'm wondering if they're going to be in for the long haul of a keeper league. Makes my life easier though.

In the prospect draft, you can certainly pick guys who are in the minors too. They just have to be SIGNED by a MLB team prior to the 2008 MLB season. For example, Strasburg will be available in the 2010 spring prospect draft. But he is not available the upcoming prospect draft because he didn't sign until after the 2009 season started.

I hope this clarifies it a little.

I chose to look at this year and worry about next year later. We will see how that pays off with the spring free agent draft.

But, looking for scraps I am reminded that Francisco Liriano would have been a Round 1 pick a couple of years ago and is now useless.

First of all, you high salary moguls, my TEAM salary is 23.40. I do not feel like this is my sharpest draft ever. I am going for a combination of 2009 and the future beyond that. We will see how it works. I will SUCK in 2008, be decent, and hopefully (very hopefully) peak in 2010 and beyond.
I checked out the record of guys who grabbed someone I wanted very soon, a bunch of guys grabbed one, Ray, and KD grabbed two, but the BIG winner was QS with 4, Zobrist, Asdrubel, Cargo, and Jackson

KD got Rowland-Smith & Feldman.

Litangel got Butler & Flores.

MC got me with Haren & Ian Stewart.

Rant got me with Berkman & Helton but he won't need 2 1Bs so I imagine we'll talk deal at some point.

Redbeard got me on Randy Wolf.

I think those were the major ones, but Smitty led the "steals" from me - I wanted Johnson, Morales, Pineiro, Uribe & he got them all 1 round ahead of me, maybe others would have made the steals in between, 22 picks is a long ways...

Q re: prospect draft:

When the green text re-write was added to the rules (adding a prospect draft after the initial draft), the order of drafting was not specified there.

This will be done in reverse order of the initial draft, right, just like in the stadium draft?

o.k. Good point. We can ammend that. We can have a 2 round prospect draft immediately after our initial draft. Were you thinking all players that were signed by an MLB team prior to the start of the 2009 season, but with no MLB experience prior to 2009, would be eligible for the prospect draft?[/quote:163f0ef71f]

I think this implies that it's the reverse of the initial draft order but you're right, should be confirmed...

I think this also, I think the reason we added a pospect draft was to balance the advantage of drafting first in the regular draft.
