The Fair 24 League Chat

Oh, on the baseball thing...

I originally had Fontenot at 2B and Qualls as the Closer. Fontenot would've addressed the bad D thing for the most part, but after agonizing for a bit, I opted for Kinsler/Nathan (who was upgraded to Soria when I couldn't spend the last buck) instead.

Kinsler's D will hurt, but he'll be pretty productive offensively. Qualls was serviceable, but Soria should [i:b9aceac856]dominate[/i:b9aceac856] in the late innings, which I found to be pretty important in the other two $60 mil 24 team leagues I played in. And you know me, it's no fun if I don't ignore the middle D company line.

We'll see how it plays out -

GL to the Cheapos!

J, cool. Yeah, Almanor is a nice place.

Well your D problems are larger than just Kinsler. You have 3's at 2b and SS, that's a big hit to take in terms of D ratings. You also have 3's on both corners in the OF (and a 4 in platoon) , a 4 at 1b and a 3e19 at 3b.

Your hitting makes up for that of course, that's why your rating is still very good, probably the highest in the league (although I haven't done all the teams and not in their parks yet)

Probably your biggest issue will be injuries. You have only one player with 600 PA.

You never know how bad fielding will play out. Fielding seems to be the biggest variable in terms of consistency. I've seen lousy fielding teams really hurt their pitching and others that "time" their boots and hits well so that they don't have as big an impact.

GL to you also.

He he

A measure of how many moves we made! "There have been 444 transactions over the past 3 days". Since the last moves where last night at the dealine, that means there were actually 444 in 2 days. Nine an hour, one every 7 minutes!

Yeesh, we're off to a terrible start at the plate and in the field. Lost game two tonight on a couple of X Chart bad luck plays.

It's going to be a long season if *this* team hits .203 and Duchs has a 5.65 ERA! Panda, Burriss, and Crisp are the only guys over the mendoza line right now and we are still waiting for our first HR. :( Granted we don't have a LOT of power, but.......the next lowest team has 3. We have more power than that!

Gotta love the early season anomalies eh?

, She Who Must Be Worshipped finally stopped calling me a "flatlander."

J-Pav,

I'll bite. Was the above an elevation of you wife above Rumpole's "She Who Must Be Obeyed?" - or am I so much older than the rest of this crew that I'm imagining things.

Spider

On the baseball front, I need to score some runs!!!
