Is there any way instead of a complete random process that decides who gets which team, can people pick which ones they want, and if multiple people want the same team, then use a randomizer for those teams? Then use the randomizer for what ever teams are left.

no trades, must play your team.

no picking teams, otherwise we'd probably never fill as it would be hard to get people to sign up for the supposedly "weaker" teams.

I'm up for suggestions on the no trades rule though. I was thinking maybe a 3-trade rule (self-enforced) or something of that nature. The idea is to play the team that you get from 1999 so I'd like to stay within that theme.

I vote for no trades to stay true to the theme. My only other suggestion would be to allow owners to swap "entire teams" immediately after the randomizer if they both agree to (e.g. swap personal favorite teams).
