Cubit Honorary Pre-Card Draft

Whats a drop # of players that would work, thereby keeping with the original concept. I vote for 5 moves as opposed to 3. I can probably reach the cap in 3-4 moves anyway. Just my 2 cents.

Just online and found to my horror that SOMO2006 is out! Normally, I'd be delighted, but I'm in the middle of moving house this week!

Not had time to check anything much in totally player salaries, but i've GOT to be way over, since my "cheapies" cost a fortune!

I'll go with whatever we decide, but it seems that $80M will certainly mean dropping more players than initially anticipated!

Now I note in the New Rules that we need 11 pitchers, so we're all illegal! :P

... except maybe Ineluki who STILL hasn't made pick #26! Brilliant, that!

OK, just did the maths 108,900,000 cimolis! I'm screwed.... And I even have F.Cabrera with no card included in that total. Who'd have thought Olerud would come out at 3.91 and Reed Johson at 3.01M And Murton at 4.40! M.Wise at 6.72M.....

I'm at $105.83 million myself.....so you're not the only one screwed :(

So far, these look to be the main reasons to increase the drops from 3 to ???.

1) Seems like most of us are WAY over budget

2) New rules now requires us to keep 11 pitchers, so all of us needs to drop a hitter for a pitcher

3) Many drafted players didn't get even get a card, thus they will have to count as a drop, despite no salary being trimmed off the team's cap.

IMO, I think we definitely need to scrap the 3 drop rule. Personally, I'd like to see unlimited drops as opposed to just increasing the number from 3 to ???. I don't see how doing this would hurt anyone. If you are happy with your team or if they fit nicely under the cap, then obviously you would drop fewer/none. Otherwise, we should have the choice of replacing the players we want to replace....and not be forced to simply cut the most expensive (and probably best) guys on our teams. Also, I want to point out that the more players we cut, the more we'd have to replace them with UNOWNED players....which means it probably would be in our best interest to cut less players anyway since the best players are already OWNED.

I realize QK is probably somewhere perfecting his swaddling technique right now  , so I don't expect a ruling right away. Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents.

Here is what I am leaning towards:

1) Bump cap to $100M
2) Have a quick supplemental draft - 2 rounds, no snake-style after drops have been made
3) The supplemental draft is in order of total cap prior to drops (i.e. those that managed their cap well are rewarded for it)
4) Any players excluded by TSN count as $6M towards this cap

It's a little complicated, but I prefer doing this than seeing so many players go unused. I am really surprised at some of the pricing, TSN has changed their valuations this year for hitting I believe...pitching looks similar...

Albert, my swaddling still sucks but it's improving. Gotta go see Kai get his johnson clipped now....back online later tonite...

Wow, that would certainly help a lot of the teams in cap trouble. Not that I'm complaining, but that could be more than what's necessary to get most of us in good standing again. But if it's these rules or the 3 player drop rule, I'll take these in a heartbeat :)

Oof  There's something I didn't have to experience (I've got 2 girls) :)

My most profound apologies... I just thought you were holding out for that 11th pitcher nobody has... :D

Ineluki, if you did make the last pick, it's not showing up on penn's draft site. Who did you end up taking? I'm sure everyone would like to know who "Mr. Irrelevant" is :)

Also, can we all agree that qk's new proposals are acceptable?
