In round 27, I selected Wily Mo Pena as a stand-in for my real choice of Randy Ruiz DH-TOR.
I'm not sure he'll have enough AB to get a card next year, but if he does, his stats vs. RHP will be amazing!

Is Ruiz eligible for this draft? I thought it was only carded players from this years set, and I don't recall ever seeing Randy Ruiz as a player with a card.
Although if he's a .50 scrub that might explain it.

Wow great move on Ruiz, a 10% chance of him is way worth the risk at this point, I didn't know he had a card in 2008.

randy ruiz had at bats for minnesota in 2008, but he didn't play the field at all.

Hi Guys,
Lets say I wasn't reading this thread while drafting which I rarely and made the same pick a few picks later how would that be handled? Is this the only card that is not listed on the draft site that is included in the card? Seems like it could be a problem to me.

There are 6 DH-only players who are not listed on the draft site. For some reason, the site only lists players who have a position on their cards. DH-only guys are:

Hate to bust your bubble, but I know for a fact Ruiz won't have a card. As I discussed with qksilver, anyone over 5 million and less than 150 PA are not included. Ruiz had 125 and for certain he will cost more then 5.
With 9 innings at 1B he will probably be a 5e25 anyway.

Found the old thread with the rules
here they are:
If a player has more than 150 PA's he is included in the TSN set
If a player has more than 100 PA's and would have a TSN salary of less than $5 million he is included in the TSN set
If a player has less than 100 PA's and would have a TSN salary under $2 million he is included in the TSN set
