Hitting woes: bushed in Busch

I'd put Clark in the #2 or #3 hole in the line-up and fill the other with Hayes...those 2 guys walk ALOT and you want Murphy, Joyner, and Whitaker to knock them in.

My team is rapidly becoming a train wreck. What am I doing wrong? Everything I touch turns to poo... the pitching stinks (in a pitching park) and the hitting is absolutely attrocious.

I'd like to know what the team stats are for your league. Where does your pitching rank out of the twelve?

What are the top 4 ERA/WHIP figures (Team stats) and the Bottom 4 ERA/WHIP.

I've got R. Henderson in a keeper league that has the exact same stat line as you except I'm at Cleveland. It's very disappointing to me also. I'll give your team another look tonight when I get off of work.

Tough pitching in this league. I would have guessed that you'd have ranked 5th or 6th.

Even though it's early, I'd still cut Hough loose. I am not a fan of his cards. Any chance that you can replace him with S. Sanderson or B. Gullickson? You'll get a little bit of cash there.

Go and check out team Sterns also. What's their record? Could you work out a win/win deal for one of his hitting stars?

Other than that, your defense is great. Pitching (other than Hough) looks adequate. You may have to just play the splits with your guys and find adequate platoon mates for Hayes, Pena, or perhaps Whitaker. You may also have to come to a decision on whether Joyner is worth it or not at 1B.

I'm thinking there are some better 1B on the FA wire for cheaper if you are willing to bend on the defense a little bit? Despite Pena's success against lefties, you could almost get the same production out of a .75 cent platoon and pick up some cash for other up grades as well.

The pitchers you mention are both available, but they have 50+ innings of shelling for the season... so I'm inclined not to get them.

I'll consider your platoon idea, but since we're in the 90% portion of the season, it has to be a real win to make it worth it.
