[quote:f4c3dd7348="ths92110"]The opposing CF was Lenny Dystra: Cf-2(0). The team at bat had a 10-8 lead with 2 outs and a man on 3rd in the top of the 9th. The pitcher was J.H. Johnson in relief, whom I now believe was in his 83 year, with a TRIPLE on at 6-5 roll vs RH batters. The guy on deck was George Brett, who appears to be in his 79 year (4R and -clutch). I don't know what the baserunning was set at.

[quote:f4c3dd7348]HAL will usually only send Singleton if you have at least a 60% chance of getting there.[/quote:f4c3dd7348]

How do you know this?[/quote:f4c3dd7348]

You have to take what I said in context with the example I used. If you set base running to normal, then that means Hal sends the runner if the success rate is 70% or better. If you pick aggressive, then HAL reduces the percentage by 5%, or 65% success rate or better. If you set it at very aggressive, then another reduction of 5%, or 60% or better. Likewise, if you set at conservative, then HAL only sends if success rate is 75% or better, and 80% or better at extra conservative.
I forget exactly how I know this, I think I got if off the super advanced rules for Strat. I've been playing the board game version since 1986, but I think these rules are explained if you get the CD ROM version, which I have for the 2001 and 2002 seasons.
Operative word, which I forgot in the first post, is "usually". As Panzer Ace points out, HAL makes stupid decisions sometimes.

Well thank you all for the info. For what its worth I dumped Singleton based on Voovitz's second post, picked up Gibson, and the teams gone 9-3 since! :D

(And I'm quite certain I've now jinxed myself . . . . )
