OK, in WWII, Otto Kretchmer was a German sub commander known as "The Tonnage King." He sank something like 210,000 tons of Allied shipping before being sunk and captured in March of 1941. His record was never broken. However, some believe the record is suspect, as all of Kretchmer's kills came early in the war, before the Allies had their act together, and before they had fitted centimetric radar on all their escorts, which is what really doomed the U-boats and made them "iron coffins".
So, here's my question. Given Panzer Aces' frankly ridiculous winning percentage over the number of seasons played (.585/59 -- it's awesome and untouchable), is there any way to fob this off with the argument that Panzer "scored" early in the game's infancy, and that since Chess and I started playing three years ago, there's really no chance his early run could be duplicated???
Have at it!
