New 24 team league with 60 mil sal cap-please check it out!!

A $60 mil salary cap is the way to go with a 24 team league. My calculations are that the average real major league team has about $67 million in salaries using the strat game salaries for 2008. Since $70 mil is not an option, $60 mil is the best option. At $80 mil, there is virtually nothing left in the free agent pool after the waiver draft and subsequent scrum. With $60 mil, the game is more realistic - more true to real life situations - and should be more interesting than being stuck with a bad team and no real chance to change much.

Check it out - the Real Managers League - 24 team league - 2008 - $60 mil salary cap, and no DH!

I dare you to try this out! Enjoy!

xtra credit$ are nice, but until they expand the # of playoff teams Ill stick to 12 team lgs.

Odds of making the playoffs & winning a title are astronomical to begin with & now we double the # of teams in the lg w/out expanding the # of playoff teams, thats crazy, insane, just ask yourself would real MLB do that...absolutely not.

BUT-you get a credit JUST FOR GETTING TO ROUND 1 OF THE PLAYOFFS. So, the odds of getting at least 1 credit (on a random basis) are EXACTLY THE SAME AS IN A 12 TEAM LEAGUE. (4/24 vs. 2/12). AND, the credits are slightly richer in a 24 team league, even on a per player basis - 3 for the world series champion, 2 for the world series finalist, and 1 each for the other playoff contestants, for a total of 7/24 - better (albeit slightly better) than the 3/12 in a 12 team league.
If it's about the credits, that means you ARE NO WORSE OFF, and actually SLIGHTLY BETTER in a 24 team league.
If it's about making the playoffs, then you have a point. BUT, think of it winning your division as roughly equivalent to the first round of the playoffs. In other words, the pennant race in your division is like the first round. If you are good enough to make a run for a playoff spot, then you are 1 of 8 teams battling - or exactly twice as many as the 4 teams that actually make the playoffs in a 12 team league - NO REAL DIFFERENCE.
