A Personal Message . . . from Ron Blomberg

Postby pwootten » Mon Nov 02, 2009 10:10 am

Hi Strat Guys, I know you guys love my bat, but if you draft me in the Iron Gloves and Gopher Balls League, you'll have to learn to love my glove too! Don't worry, 'cause I ain't much worse than anybody else in this league. Look at the bright side! I might hit .450 against those sad-sack pitchers.

C'mon, get four of your buddies to join and the draft will begin. You do have four friends, don't you?

Of course I do!
Problem is, they're all in the league already. =)

Thanks for putting this together. Could you provide more detail on when and how we will know if it is 60 or 80 mil salary cap?

Comments deleted because they didn't even make sense to me. Salary cap information can be found below.

We'll suppose I start out drafting Seaver, Schmidt and Richie Allen. Then it is announced that the cap is 60 mil. Wouldn't that put me at a disadvantage? Alternatively, suppose I draft low salary guys and the cap is announced at 80 mil - also an unfortunate situation. The problem is that by announcing the rule after the draft, you give a competitive advantage to some players, and this advantage is kind of arbitrary. It's like playing poker and the dealer (who is also a player) announces the rules after the cards are dealt.
