I hear ya there. We won 8 of 9, then lost 7 of 9, then managed to sweep last night. :?

Be nice to be a bit more consistent. I think this team is going to score runs, but we're still towards the bottom of the pack in runs scored.

Course we also have 8 blown saves and only 9 saves wo it would be nice if Torres could get his ERA under 7 and Shell would anywhere near his card. They're killing us right now. We can't expect Bonderman to stay under 3.00 all season!

Coming Back to Earth

Postby Spider 67 » Tue Nov 03, 2009 8:30 am

Played over my head for awhile, but looks like reality may be setting in. Billingsley has lost his last two and my relief corps, which had been out of sight has started to give up some runs - only 2 blown saves so far.

What's up with Pit Corner? Are they for real? That division is really tough and they're winning at a .689 clip?

I would say, no way that team is this good. Of course, not many teams are going win 111 games so that's easy to say.

However, it's a very flawed team.

the offense v RHP is very weak. He has only one decent hitter there.

the team is very injruy prone, the D is terrible.

Hit's LHP pretty well however. Pen is deep. Rotation is Pretty good for a 60 mil team too.

Not a terrible team, but no way this team should be on a 111 game win pace. Unless, of course, you believe that Posada, Teixeira, Arias, Eric Chavez () alou, Christian, and Schumaker should ALL be at .300 or above. Most of those are above .320. Not only that, BUT, he has Kuroda, Bush, Bennet, Marshall, Johnson, Ohman, Blevins AND Dotel ALL with ERAs at 3.02 or less. Not a chance, with that lousy D that stays the same. Well, It *is* a dice game so it's possible.

Not to say that this team is terrible. Their rating is very similar to many of the teams in the league, but it's simply not this good. His "expected" w/l is currently 27-18 (that, I believe would also be too high) and he's 11-4 in one runners and 5-0 in Extras. He's played and won a LOT of close games.

He'll come back to Earth, particularly when the injuries begin to hit him.

One guy's opinion,

Very quiet out here. I win 2, lose 2. Just can't seem to be consistent at the plate. We win big, but then lose the close ones. Ugh.

I played Corner and lost 2. How do they get away with leaving over $800K on the table? However, they were tough to match up against with so many starter options.

My teams pretty inconsistent - I've got the problem Jet pointed out before we starter - not enough on base %. Fielding has been great - half of my errors are from 3B subs and pitching. McLouth and Rollins pull me out of a lot opf tight spots. Billingsley has been out of sight except for a four game slump. Have been pretty lucky so far.

The good news: We Swept Corner!

The bad news: We lost Crisp for 15 and Pablo for 10! Ouch.  Pablo really hurts as he went down in game 3, 9th inning, up 7-1.

Hopefully it's not a pyrrhic victory.

Ouch! Losing two key guys stings, especially when you're closing in on the Corner. I've been in good shape as far as injuries go - Zimmerman sits a lot, but that doesn't hurt too much. I think Meche has been hurt 3 times (usually 1st inning) - seems unusual for a starter.

J-Pav has been on a tear - 11 in a row! I liked it much better when they were in the basement in my division.
