It has been a while for wacky themes and this is a twist on the old posion theme from several years ago.....

I am thinking of a new theme league based on the Redistribution of Wealth SOM Style. In this theme the top teams will be forced to redistribute players to the less fortunate teams at four points during the season. The redistribution will be progressive because we know the top teams can afford it and have a moral right to help the under performing teams.

The teams will be ranked 1 to 12 based on their win/loss records. Team #1 is paired with #12, 2-11, etc. The bottom team then proposes a trade with their 'fat cat' partner that [b:4db5ae260f]must[/b:4db5ae260f] accepted. The bottom three (12, 11, 10) can propose a trade of up to two players and the next bottom three (9, 8, 7) can propose a trade of one player.
The only restriction on trades are that each team must have a valid team according to SOM rules. If you are a bottom feeder you can trade Berrymore for Carter, but then that is only fair in the world of social justice.

Trades will be made:
After game 39 the rankings will be set and trades must be made and accepted before game 46
After game 81 the rankings will be set and trades must be made and accepted before game 88
After game 126 the rankings will be set and trades must be made and accepted before game 133

Example
1-12 - Trade can be for 0-2 players
2-11 - ''
3-10 - ''
4-9 - Trade can be for 0-1 player
5-8 - ''
6-7 - ''

The league will be $200 million, DH, 28 man rosters required.
Once the opening day rosters are set there will be no free agent activity. All player movement must be via trades. Trades outside the redistribution trades are allowed.


I am open to ideas for this theme because I am sure I have not covered everything.

If the rosters are frozen after opening day, will the roster size be 28 for all teams? With 200 million, it shouldn't be a problem.
There won't be many .75 players around either. Can(should) you put a 1 or 2 player requirement on - under 1 million $ players.

And I liked the poison pill theme league from back then. Even though I didn't play in it, It looked like a really fun league. LMB tried to revive it a while back but just fell short of enough interest......... :(
