I'm not much of a 'trash-talker", about a generation removed from that, and I'm really not that well versed on the 2001 season, so my observations on Jeep's predictions probably won't have much credence, but...
I think that there are a few "newbies" to the 2001 game in our league and their roster's reflect this. Either that, or they had absolutely horrible drafts and were late getting to the frenzy. Who was the first in by the way, and what nuggets were you able to pick up? I didn't get into it until about 12:30am, by which time the position player pool was pretty much down to where it is now.
I had a good draft, except that I missed LaDuca early and had tried to sneak Bonds in late, meaning that I had a ton of salary left to spend and really only starting pitching to use it on. Luckily, the "Big Unit" was available, but I still think I'd rather have Bonds! Is his 2001 card the best SOM card ever? I'm gonna have to run the numbers and compare it to his 2002 card (I don't have the ratings for the 2001 set). Anyways, the FA pool remnants pretty much forced me into a pitching/defense squad, but I'm quite sure that my pitching isn't strong enough to merit Jeep's pick of me winning my division and advancing to the finals. All these bomber parks in our league mean I'm going to really struggle on the road, so I'm really hoping to just break 500% in this first season, and not fall too far off the pace for when we get to the years where I feel much more confident in my abilities.
