Injury Line-Up Shuffle

Injury Line-Up Shuffle

Is there any way to avoid HAL rearranging your entire line-up if a player gets injured during a series? It would be nice if the replacement would just be inserted in the injured hitter's spot without messing up the rest of the batting order.

Does this irritate enough people that it would be a future update? Or am I alone on this?

You're not alone, but I don't see another way to do it. HAL will set what he thinks is the most optimum L/U, and no it won't always agree with what we would do, but that has to be the way to do it. Someone may correct me if I'm wrong, as the computer part of this isn't my strong suit.

All that being said, the end result is probably not going to matter much. There have been numerous studies done that show an optimal vs. random lineup makes little difference in terms of how many runs a team will score. HAL usually just tries to give your more expensive players more ABs, which is (likely) just as good as anything else.

That being said, you would think a "don't rearrange lineup due to injury" button would be pretty easy to implement. It is _less_ work for HAL. :)
