Playoff rest day?

Playoff rest day?

Postby The Jerk Store » Wed Dec 09, 2009 5:04 pm

I'm in a league where I made the playoffs and won the semi-final round in 4 games. The other semi-final match has gone to a 5th game tonite, so my team is inactive tonite as we're waiting to find out who our opponent is in the finals. Does anyone know if this "day off" counts as an additional rest day for my starters?

I agree with respect to starting ptichers and I've seen injuries heal between rounds, but what about days of rest for relief pitchers?

In my recent 2008 league, Corcoran and Torres pitched in games 3 and 4 of the semifinals, which I won in 4 games. Theoretically, Corcoran and Torres should have rested 2 days before the finals - the day of the 5th game, which wasn't played because it wasn't necessary, and the off day between the semfinals and the finals. However, both entered game 1 of the finals at an F0 fatigue rating and got shelled.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Shouldn't those two days count as days of rest for relief pitchers so that they could enter at an F9 fatigue rating?

No sour grapes here as I won the finals in 6 games. I just want to know for future reference.

Can't anyone shed some light on this issue?

I would say that is a question for Bernie to answer.

Blackie, I'm really surprised by your observation.

Could you post the link of Game 1/Finals?

I was BlackieMisey's victim in the 1st round. My 97 win team knocked out by his 82 win team.

game 3 semis:

game 4 semis where I was eliminated:

No game 5 was needed.

Then here's his finals game 1 where Corcoran and Torres come in at F0 after what should be a day off.

So, it does look like a bug, but BlackieMisey shouldn't be complaining since his crappy .500 team won the finals. :)

Looks like we're having a real bug.

BERNIE, BERNIE!!!

How do we get Bernie in touch with this?

While Bernie is at it, perhaps he could also answer back whether assigning a reliever in the "mop-up" role will prevent the use of this reliever in other roles (such as in overtime).
