Is anyone else frustrated....

with how long its taking leagues to fill? It just seems like with all the options, (12 teams or 24, the 99 game or 2008, live draft or standard, DH or No DH) there isn't enough players to fill the leagues in a timely manner.

Am I the only one bothered by this? Is this typical of the winter months?

I agree that the new 24 team league and 1999 options quell the SOM managers' desire for 2008 leagues, but for the most part, it is the anticipation of the 2009 cards that prevents the filling of such leagues.

Personally, I will not be playing any more 2008 leagues as I anxiously await the arrival of the 2009 set.

Thats probably a smart move. I think I'm on day 3 of waiting for a "std 80mil DH" league to fill for 2008. I can't ever remember it taking this long. I guess it will be my last league tell 2009.

I joined a 2008 $100 ATGiv Under 500 Pt. 12-team autodraft league.

I was number 5. It took two days to get #6. Another day for #7, then . . .in a matter of hours, filled.

People don't want to join leagues and wait for it to fill up. But SOMEone has to be the second or third entry.

I joined the league on Monday and was the 4th person in the league. For the past 48hrs or so we've been stuck with 7 teams enrolled and waiting for 5. I'm thinking something is wrong with the site. This blows.

Nothing is wrong with the site,

Baseball season is long over and even though this is a simulation, that means some of the regulars (myself included) have temporarily gone on hiatus for Football. It's also holiday time, which means people are busy shopping, baking, partying, traveling etc. Couple all this with the new set on the horizon in 3 months or so and lets not forget a slow down in the economy ( or at least a percieved slowdown :roll: ) which means people may be saving some of their descrecianry income for other things.

So yeah it's S-L-O-W.

This is always the down time, which is why this is usually when new games come out :P ATG 5 is around the corner, so no one wants to join 4 anymore. People are bored of 08 and waiting for 09, even though it's 3-4 months away

I'll probably play one ATGV season and one 99/08 season and that'll be it until the new cards come out...just a slower time, that's all.
