Rick Cerone injury question

Postby echo22 » Wed Dec 23, 2009 3:22 pm

I have a crap team and Cerone just got hurt for 8 games on a lineout. One problem.....he can't get hurt on a lineout.

He was leading off.

How did this happen and why does HAL hate me?

I have seen this happen before. I saw it happen where a pitcher got injured except the injury could not have happened with the batter who was hitting. I would email the help desk and maybe they can check the actual roll to see what happened. I think they can only check the actual roll for about a day, so ask soon. I think what most people agree happens is that Hal allows/forces some players to bunt for a hit in some REALLY stupid spots. You cant bunt for a hit in regular Strat, but you can in the computer version.

I bumped the other thread. This is rare but disturbing.

Did it happen vrs R or L?
Like I mentioned in Panzers thread, improve out distribution maximum rule could have come into play here too as the out you make leading off is irrelevant.
Also a possibility would be the Correct board game excess max rule. Just for example, if Cerone was facing a low strikeout, right-handed pitcher, on his 87 card, that strikeout plus injury may be changed to a lineout to avoid the pitcher racking up too many strikeouts.
Another unlikely scenario, but it's something to consider.
