SP help

Postby Carew29 » Fri Mar 17, 2006 9:11 pm

I have Higuera, Resuschel, Deshaies and COx as my SP rotation. Playing in Tiger stadium. --- thinking to upgrade on Deshaies: Have up to 4.3 mill to spend. Who to recommend:

K. Gross
D. Alexander
S. MCGregor
L. Barker

Is Reuschel a good #2?

Reuschel can be a good #1, not that I'd drop Higuera. Top two pitchers are good.

Deshaies, Gross, Alexander, Barker, McGregor fall into a category of 80s pitchers who are more likely to fail than succeed in a HR park. There is a large cast of pitchers who join them in this category. Every veteran 80s player has favorites from this category... guys who they rely on when they get a bum Blyleven card. This is a game of probabilities and the primary probability you are dealing with is the chance you will get a good card for your club, in that stadium, with that defense in that league. So while any one of them you pick is likely to fail there are likely 2 from that group who can do well.

I personally have had ok success with Deshaies and Barker but they are not go to guys for me in a pinch. I think Alexander however is probably the most desireable of the group.
