[quote:4fd998699b="Sneezedoc"]I will give a Met trivia question too by the way: Two of the 3 people to make the last out vs. the Mets in 1969 for them to clinch the Division, the NL pennant and the World Series ended up managing the Mets. Who were they? and who was the 3rd? (kinda cool isn't it that 2 of these players ended up managing them?)

Davey Johnson (Oriole in 1969) and Joe Torre (Cardinal in 1969) are the only players that come to mind.

next trivia question - who owns Claude Osteen?

A: franky with a bid of 7.5 mil, 12 Jan 14:17.

Next up Blue Moon Odom - pinch hitter and erstwhile starting pitcher. In 1969, he hit 5 HR in 79 AB, 0.506 SLG and 0.799 OPS.

Odom - 0.5

From Wikkepedia: In the 1969 National League Championship Series against the Mets, he (Gonzalez) hit .357 with two RBI, one double, four runs, and one homer (off Tom Seaver). Following his major league career, he played part of one season in Japan in 1972 for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp.

Tony is still alive at the age of 73. Probably has more "pep in his step" than current met skipper Jerry Manuel.

Before we get too far, I did see postings AFTER Frank's 1/12/10 14:17 posting for Osteen. I saw one from gfwarf posted on 13 Jan 2010 11:25 for the same $7.5. Are we OK with this "signing" by Franky? I want to be sure that we all agree before we move on and it gets messy.
