2010 Pre Card Draft Chat - Waiting on Misterg to load team

4 picks to go, glad I took that 3rd baseman now. For one, none would have probably gotten back to me, and two, I only have to hold my breath for 4 more picks and my targeted player is still out there.

[quote:14b1418e58="Jerlins"]And I agree about Hill, he'll be better suited as a 6 hitter. It's a good feeling to have when 3 of the first 19 hitters are on my NAKL team. It's a bad feeling knowing you have none of the first 6 pitchers though.[/quote:14b1418e58]

I wouldn't be too worried about your pitching in NAKL. According to my research you own 3 of the top 19 SP in that league. Now 2 of them are LHP so that may not play out as well but based on pure stats I don't think you'll be hurting.
One of the big problems is 10 of the top 20 this year are LHP, including 7 of the top 10. There's also a chance 2 of those top 10 won't get cards because of low IP. Two of the top 14 may become RP only instyead of S/R, so it all depends on how much you want to gamble.

BTW based on pure stats, and how the cards could be configured, Grienke ranks 20th of the top SP cards. Again, YMMV based on preference for * versus non *, lefty vs righty, and BPHR numbers...

Yep 2 of them are LH'd, but I am also playing PNC, which by all accounts, should favor me again this year. Actually, it's not my SP's I'm worried about. I need someone to close out the games, thanks in part to the buffoon manager who let Fuentes (who was having a decent year) pitch until he gave up 10 runs in one game. Take one for the team and stick it up Jerlins' butt was the last thing I heard on Sports Center that night. :x :x :x

Jerlins, I'm really getting excited to see who your targeted player is. I've got two guesses to who it is.

Also as far as Hill goes he slugged almost 100 points higher vs lefties so I think he'll be a 2L or 3L.

The horse is already dead, Niners.

I'm not concerned, he'll have a very nice card. Hell, Greinke went #4 in the first pre-card draft I participated in (AeroDave picked), so I'm not alone.

Sorry wasn't looking slam your pick or pick on you, just using him as a point of reference as he was the first SP off the board. And as I said figuring the other variables, he's in the top 3 for RH * sp.

Lol, don't get too excited. I'm thinking of pushing the envelope and waiting until RD 4 now. A lot depends on these next few picks.

Changed my mind at the last moment, if for nothing else, the plate appearences. Securing a SS now, I can focus on "best available player" as opposed to position scarcity. The A. Cabrera pick frightened me off from waiting yet another round for a SS. There were few left I liked and 3 folks with 2 picks each without a SS picked before me.

Still harping over that Tulowiski pick :x right before me.

Way to keep up the suspense jerlins. Scutaro will play very nicely behind Crosby for you I'm sure. He's still you guy right?

And as for grienke goes I think he and lincecum will have the top cards as pitchers. Hal always seems to take care of the cy young winners. I'd be suprised if grienke has a card less than 7.5 mil. With his innings pitched I'll bet he's a *sp.

:D

Had a feeling you might be leaning Scutaro, I almost tabbed him myself for 2b, figured with a 1 at ss I could afford a 3 at 2b, but Hunter being arguably the best hitting 1 rated CF was to good for me to wait on him one more round...
