hackra - do you have any interest in taking over for ldanred in any of the following auctions:
1969
1999
ATG4*
2008**
*-Team is complete, needs only to be loaded and managed.
**-auction is 98% complete, ldanred has indicated he will stay and load his team but we've been waiting three+ weeks for him to load his ATG4 team so I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks very much for asking, but unless TSN decides on a major sale, I don't think I can justify the cash for more teams than I have going right now (2 teams running and a third just finished).
I did get a PM today from Dan, and I suspect he will load that ATG4 team soon. (With Maris, Mantle and Ruth in the outfield, that team should have some success even if Hal is running the show for Dan 8-) )
perhaps you can find somebody with more expendable income to take the other teams.

Just to be clear, is you unwillingness to get in the other leagues, purely about money? If so maybe we could take a collection, if we each paid $2 each, and then you could have a team for $2.95, at least for 1999 auction. I am not rich right now, but $2, I can afford.
Matter of fact, if the ATG4 folks wanted to make that offer, I would take the ATG 4 team.

when you put it that way, you make me feel like a cheapskate.
To tell the truth, I consider myself very unexperienced at the online stratomatic games except for Fantasim (which I tried first, and feel very good about). I have played 1999 once, 1969 never, 2008 never (did play a free 1 week 2003 trial long ago, but no other 200x games), ATG4 twice (once in a franchise theme that totally stank), and 5 free 1986 teams when I had no idea at all what I was doing. I started reading the message boards and following this auction to try to learn from how veterans built their teams, and felt comfortable jumping in because I had seen the action from the start.
I am not sure how it will work with TSN, but it seems that if all the other managers in the league are willing to split the costs, why not have the league pay for the 1999 team you are trying to fill and plan to let Hal manage them. The league managers can vote/agree on team/player settings at the start of the season, and let it run on autopilot (Hal seems to be unfair equally against all opponents in "unmanaged teams" from my limited experience). For the draft part, I have no great suggestion, but perhaps you should halt the auction and either make consensus picks to fill that team up followed by completion of the auction, or finish the auction and leave that team with the choice of the leftovers. OR.....try this lead baloon :? post for a replacement manager on the boards, and restart the draft.
Long winded answer, but I don't want to pick up the 1999 steroid ball team, and finances are not the only reason.
