Guys,

If you don't see me bidding much in the near future, it's 'cuz I am out of cash. I will be having to wait for a while to pick up mostly sub 1 mil players. I am still in it though.

Once again, am new at the auction theme.

This has probably been suggested before, but maybe not...

I have a thought on keeping the auction moving.
I notice from time to time a manager takes a day or two to claim his player. Would it be worth considering to have the winners nomination privelege slide to the next manager if a nomination isn't made within... say... 48 hours after the winning bid was made. A harsher option would be to negate the winning bid and fall back to the previous high bid.

I think if this was laid out at the beginning of an auction, it would be understood that once the auction starts, it needs to be kept running along.

We all have lives to live and occassionally life interrupts these simple pleasures. No hard feelings towards the guys who lose their nomination privelege and no hard feelings to the guys to whom it slides (or to whom the winning bid falls back to).

I like the first of kpt's suggestions, (or a close variant of it), and I have another idea I have floated for speeding up the auction that has got some positive feedback, and I would like to put these ideas up for a vote (2/3 approval needed for rule changes)
The purpose for these are to speed us up and make the league feel more fun, and to help us finish before many of us start drafting for keeper leagues in Mid to late March.

If a new player has not been introduced 48 hours after a winning bid, (24 hours after the new player was eligible to be claimed,) the first owner who notices may note this and make the new player introduction, to help keep us moving.
