I think you are being very modest.

Despite having only 231 points, you also have two championships AND in our 2008 league, you came within ONE run of beating Jeepdriver (who brought almost 5000 points, 47 championships, and 7 2008 titles) in the 7th game of the championships.

I think you are one of the strongest players, point for point, that I've seen.

I wish there were a legitimate flexibility in the league settings to set up a handicapping system that levels the playing field (draft pick, graduated heavier weight in autodraft for lower point folks, blacked-out Free agent signing window . . . I'd be glad to work with Bernie and others on this), but until Bernie can do that, I'd say you're WAY too strong for this particular league. (And if Mike wants to countermand this, fine from my end.)

Let's talk about doing another league together -- maybe when the 2009 cards come out! I'd like a chance to actually WIN some games against you this time around!

I sent another message to the qualifiers in my league. Hopefully it fills up soon. I haven't done the live draft, and it looks like that changes the dynamic of the game quite a bit. Should be fun.

The fun of the Live Draft -- and the challenge -- is that those who are used to doing the "mathematicalisthenics" of figuring what they can afford must get the $$$ OUT of their heads.

You can conceivably wind up with a $200 million team and still not win if it ain't the right $200 million.

Trades and the value of players become [i:3e3dfcc893]need [/i:3e3dfcc893]based rather than [i:3e3dfcc893]money[/i:3e3dfcc893] based. If you have a drastic NEED for a LH Starter, and there are not enough to go around or in the FREE Agent pile, Randy Johnson can become as valuable as Manny Ramirez.

I consider it a vacation from the $$$$ figuring that can drive even MY OCD head a bit nutty.

I hope it fills up soon.
