1969 DIRTY DOZEN FRANCHISE LEAGUE - FULL!

Our historical single season sets

Postby AllStarInc » Mon Feb 08, 2010 10:01 pm

Sneeze,

Can I ask you to please do one thing?.....

Can we all please just put this all into perspective?

My goodness, we're not seeking cures for "world hunger" or "racism", or any other REALLY important topic.

We're attempting to fill a STRAT-O-MATIC online league....and that is all for goodness sakes.

I can't believe that any of us would be SO insensitive to not be able to accommodate any situation that might require a simple delay of a week or two.

Our commissioner Dan works VERY hard to make all of these leagues work for all of us. He deserves nothing but praise and thanks.

If you need to wait one week, two weeks, or whatever you feel is necessary before loading your team due to the current situation...well...uhhh....ok????

But for gosh sakes, can't we just put some of this in perspective and stop laying down ultimatums.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that ldanred wakes up each morning thinking about more and more ways that he can inconvenience all of us.

I have played with him in a few leagues and he's always been great.

But I'd imagine......maybe oh maybe....I could be wrong too?

I guess I was being taken as angry and bitter. I am not angry, just perplexed and find it unfair to the rest of us. Furthermore, Dan (ldanred) has not really given any "real" explanantion as to why he is delayed. I am NOT abandoning you guys. As you see by my active participation and light banter (I think for the most part), I want this league to go off. However, I don't want to waste my team if he is not going to enter a team in a timely manner.
I was content truly with only being in the auction league but when you were looking for a 12th man, I obliged. I just don't want to be at a disadvantage by having the draft and league start Monday (when I will be away). If you are willing to put it off another week, I have no problems (if it can't be done over the next 72 hours).
Now let's get back to light happy talk! :D

Thanks all - we are cool - let's hope ldan shows and if he doesn't we will seek a replacement and start when you get back Sneeze.

What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding? :)

Good perspective, All Star. I'm willing to wait until Sneezedoc gets back in town. If I'm reading my roster right, my team is going to suck, but such are the learning experiences of drafting these different league variations. I'm enjoying the education I'm getting from you veteran Strat guys and the streriod-injecting Rjnewman.

I was wondering how many leagues you guys play at once? More than one at a time seems like it would be taxing.

ldanred emailed me this morning and says he will be in at about 9am tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. Hopefully we can ALL fill right after that, Sneeze can get his team configured before he leaves and we will all live happily ever after.

Except RJ who will experience shrinking genitals and an increased risk of brain cancer due to the steroids (per Gordie).

Thank you all for participating and for keeping it fun. Seriously, we have a nice little community that plays this '69 game and it's fun getting to know you all. Even if we do bait each other now and then!

Now if the rest of you would tank to help continue my '69 Twins fantasy camp that'd be great!

Sneeze - can we come along on your vaca?

The only thing that I'm angry about is I know my '69 Cubbies are cursed and I don't think my extra players will reverse the curse. I picked up Rusty Staub, Willie Davis, Horace Clarke, Dick Schoefield, Hawk Taylor, and other less-talented guys. Who here believes they will make my Cubbies...World Champs?

I believe. That's a nice lineup with a pretty decent pitching staff.

Im lifting in Cabo. Can load at night if internet works. I like my team except for back end of starting rotation. Not use to bad pitching...

Thanks - this IS a great group of owners. Let's stick it out and I think good things will happen; we should oblige anyone's schedule as long as we can given the interdependence we have on each other to get this league going!

Thanks for the positive attitude, sneeze.

I'm not sure what I have here with my Phillies. They don't give you a whole lot to start with other than Allen, Callison, and Grant Jackson.

I think I've bolstered the pitching staff (not done yet), enough to make it competitive if Wilson and Raffo don't get too many innings.

Not thrilled with Hisle in center and rolling the dice with a Rojas/F. Stanley double play combo.

Still have some good $ to spend!
