I don't think anything has been set in stone in regards to dates yet. Last I recall, we decided on a post-release situation, but don't take that as gospel either. I've really no clue.

Thanks Jerlins. I just want to make sure I don't miss any deadlines.

I can't give you any solid dates yet, just a general idea of when we'll start.

As I stated before I'm under different time constraints than I have been in the last 2 or 3 years. Because of that, I do not want to have both leagues I'm the commisioner of, running their drafts at the same time. Because USKL 3 is the older of the 2 leagues, I have decided to run their draft first, after the cards are released. Once I have that date nailed down I can do the same for this league.
I'd suspect though that we'll be drafting about 3-4 weeks after the cards are released, which, if history is any indication, will put the draft for this league around the last week of March or 1st week of April.
I apologize for delaying, but I feel it's the only way I can give each league the time they deserve. Remember, after you guys give me cuts, I have to prepeare a roster sheet and draftable players list for both leagues, activities that are VERY time consuming, and then oversee the draft in the manner in which you all have become accustomed. With my new part time job I just don't see me being able to do both leagues at the same time as I have in the past.
I hope this is okay with you all, but trust me it's the only way I can assure I can stay on top of things in both leagues the way not only all of you expect, but in the way I expect as well.

Long winded I know, but you all should be used to that by now. In the meantime, it will give you lots of time to work trades and study the cards once TSN releases them.

Need Clarification

Postby Jerlins » Sun Feb 14, 2010 10:03 am

If I were to trade someone that last year was on my prospect list, but played (ie. Beckham, Bard), for a player that was active last year, and it was a 1 for 1 trade, I would then have to make a cut from my active roster to do so, correct?

Correct.

Proepcts for are porpuses are determined by US not by the MLB. In other words, assuming you drafted Beckhem last year, you do not need to promote him prior to the Spring draft even though he has a card, you wait until season 2 this year, or you can hold onto him as a prospcet until 2011 and then have to eiket promote him or cut him.

Therefore, any time you trade a prospect for an active player, you will have to make a cut to your 40 man roster (Assuming of course you at at the 40 man limit).

And it would be helpful if you annouce that cut when you make the deal.

Of course seeing as how [b:7b7f1765bc]we [/b:7b7f1765bc]haven't talked about Beckham yet Jerry, I assume this is all just hypothetical at this point. :D
