This team has possibilities. Assuming HAL will use your cheap hard RH and LH RP properly you have a pretty good staff.

You have some wasted money in your offense though. I can see having a good backup C since Molina is injury prone but there is extra money not playing in your OF. You have Winn and Pods in LF and Damon and Kotsay in CF. Assuming one of those 4 will DH there will still be one not starting unless there is a platoon that I am not seeing. You should downgrade the non-starting player and upgrade one of your offensive positions.

A big hole I see also is a backup 1B for when Johnson goes down. He has a 3 injury rating and will go down for some games. I don't even see another player on your roster that plays 1B. Polanco and Hudson have less than 600 PA so they could possibly go down for 15 games. Will you be happy with Orr's defense for a 15 game stretch at 2B or 3B? Looks like at least one of these areas could be addressed when you turn in one of your OFers. You might also need to either downgrade Hernandez slightly or turn in one of your RP to have enough money to get these backups.

Otherwise I think this team has a good chance.

thank you so much
can't make up my mind, should I get rid of Winn or Podsednik or Damon? Which one is better in my Park? I don't have a ratings book.

Here are some stats that could help you decide taken from the Ratings Book. The categories are Hits, on base %, clutch rating & double play chances.

vs LHP
Winn 30.6 hits, 46.4 OBP, -6 clutch, 14 DP
Pods 32.1 hits, 47.1 OBP, -9 clutch, 9 DP
Damon 35.4 hits, 46.4 OBP, +1 clutch, 6 DP

vs RHP
Winn 33.9 hits, 40.9 OBP, -11 clutch, 14 DP
Pods 27.6 hits, 36.6 OBP, -10 clutch, 8 DP
Damon 30.6 hits, 37.6 OBP, +1 clutch, 6 DP

All of them are good at not hitting into many DPs. Damon is the best clutch performer. They are fairly close in the other categories. You will want to factor in defense & speed into your decision.

polanco, hudson and johnson all will get injured frequently which could crimp your offense/defense. I do like your first 2 SPs- you may well be competitive but will be hurt by injuries, plus you dont have a slugger or 2 to knock in the guys on base. some of your success will depend on your opposing teams ballparks

thank you, I have made some additional changes, one thing that I am doing differently with this team, I am making sure that all of my pitchers have negative hold ratings

Don't worry excessively about injuries. Many of the injury guys are among the best values, and will do you more good than harm. Frank Thomas was/is my favorite player in the 2005 set, and I had him on about 11 of my 12 Champs teams.

Great managers like [b:893f48ea78]luckyman[/b:893f48ea78] and [b:893f48ea78]cristano1[/b:893f48ea78] use high value / high injury guys all the time.

I felt the same about Thomas too. I had him in Petco on three teams. One made the finals. lol

I would have kept Winn and dumped Pods (or Damon).

Pods is fast, but Winn has much much more TB's vs righties, something that will drive in runs, which is very nice to have.

Kotsays -2 arm in Cf and great clutch make him a top value in my book for 06. Which leave either Pods or Damon back to the FA list, no Winn..

btw, Hampton is a great Petco value in my book as well.

A lot of Jenkin power is off BP Hr's which will be outs in Petco, there may be better alternatives for RF, but I don't know your FA list.

I wasn't trying to say dump the high injury 1B. I was only pointing out that he had no backup for when he does get injured.
