[quote:218b716a33="jimmullins70"][quote:218b716a33="Madigan33"]A couple thoughts about trades.
I have found there is a large gap in the way people value players. You can talk to 3 people about the same player and get three very different offers. I think this makes people less likely to trade. There are some really good cards out there for players that older or had a huge year that they are unlikely to reproduce. These cards tend to be very devalued in trades.
I think the biggest obstacle is communication. If I could talk to someone on IM to discuss trades I would probably trade more. It is a hassle using Sportingnews crappy e-mail system and some people like to have long negotiations.
The last obstacle I have seen is that it is hard to piece teams together between two people. I had some players that had 8 BP's and a high HR % but I was in a pitchers park making them useless. I tried to trade them to a couple players in hitters parks for singles hitters but no one was interested. I am not saying those people were wrong but I looked at the trades they seemed like good moves. Sometimes I would get an offer for one of my *SP with no *SP in trade and not having would mean I would lose alot of good innings pitching have two crappy guys filling in. The trade was fair in value but not practical.
I am not complaining or try to offend anyone, just my two cents. In my fantasy baseball and football leagues they same issues are often the problem to getting trades done.[/quote:218b716a33]
What about setting up a Yahoo Group for our league? That way trade offers will go through each owners email. We probably all check our email more than we check our TSN inbox. I agree the TSN email system is terrible. It makes it a pain to go back and forth with a fellow owner when negotiating a deal.[/quote:218b716a33]
Cause I don't want another e-mail account or site to check, thank you very much, and I won't require it for anyone else in the league that doesn't want one either.
You all should have each others e-mail address because it gets sent out with the group mailings I send now.
I do not understand what the problem is with the PM system here on this site, it is more cumberson than IM'ing I'll admit, but I actually prefer it to e-mail maybe 'cause I'm here so darned much and need to post things on the thread anyway. In fact I check here MUCH more frequently than e-mail, so that assertion is incorrect, at least for me. Not only that, but with the Outbox and Sentbox I know when my messages have been received and I have a record of what I've sent to whom, which isn't alwys the case with e-mail.
