with the right pen mix and settings Adams can still toss around 200 innings

I think 200 IP with a R1 is really pushing it.

I see a Dan Wheeler All or Nothing league in the future...

I'm sure I'll use him this year as a RH specialist in a pitcher's park. .72 isn't too much to ask.

I agree. Especially when he isn't an R1/C6.

I'm wondering if folks can search back through their 2008 teams and see what the highest inning totals achieved by R1s were. I'm sure they weren't outrageous because of who was available. The 5 most expensive pure R1s were:

Leo Nunez 2.17
Andrew Brown 1.90
Jerry Blevins 1.85
Chad Bradford 1.69
Bobby Seay 1.10

I didn't try to ride any R1s this past season. Most I got out of mine were three instances of 100 IPs from Joe Beimel (2x) and Blevins (1x).

You need an R3 (or at least an R2) to even approach what Kuo could do last year. The best pure R3 reliever this season is Aceves...who is not even close to Kuo.

Not at all. Just rare to see a card have nothing but doubles and homers.

It is not unreasonable that Adams could appear in 75 games at 2.+ innings per appearence thats btwn 175 and 200 IP...this might be towards the top of the curve but if...

1. You set him to set up and middle with slow hook use not be for the 6th etc etc

2. Have a cheap R/L closer combo..no more than 3M spent. Set to extreme limited closer use.

3. Have no R 2's+ in the pen. All other should be R1's with set to most limited use. L/R specialist that have quick hooks etc.

4. A starting staff of S6 or less. Set each SP to 6IP max.

Pitchers park with good middle D

With that said...I did think he had a C0 closer rating...so that will cost him.
