How would you bat this lineup?

I really like my latest ATG2 team, playing in Municipal, but I really don't have a true leadoff hitter. As it stands, I'd likely bat Mel Ott leadoff.

My 1st thought is...who is going to play RF???

Not a bad core, but I see a couple guys that would really help this offense.

These are some things I'd do if it were me.

drop Dauer for Ferris.
drop all my backups to .50 guys.
Drop Blue, Carelton & Stigman for Vuckovich, M Harris & Rommel.
Drop Walling and play J Rob at 3B.
Drop McDowell for Wyatt.

This should leave you enough cas to get a couple guys like Cepeda, Alou, G Thomas or Steinfeldt (putting J Rob on 1B).

Those would be some very nice bats to mix into the lefties. Have J Rob Leadoff.

Well, I'm guessing you made some changes since the last post,as you have a RF. Definitely have JRob leading off.

I don't know if you want to keep Walling. With Dickey, Ott, and Stargell, you're going to see a lot of lefties, and Walling is BAD against lefties. Even in Municipal, Hobe Ferris will outhit him against lefties. By a lot. No, I'm being serious. At the very least, get a righty 1B or 3B so you can sit Denny and have Jackie fill the other position.

Also, put Ott near the top of your lineup, say 2nd. He walks A LOT, and that won't help you as much lower in the order.

Ended up doing this. I quickly struck and got Jackie Robinson to lead off.
