Lets start talking about this being the last season. We need something new, the apathy has set in.

Hey BC, it been a while but we need one of your genius themes!!

New theme...Yes! :D Last season? This is just 1973 going to 1989. We have years left on this theme. I signed up with a long term commitment in mind. In fact all of my player selections have bee with that in mind and not a short term league that is going to end. For instance I would have kept Dick Dietz for his last season in 1973 and not drafted Darrell Porter if I thought 1973 was going to be it.

If 1973 is the last year then we should not even play it and just quit now. Very dissapointing if that is the case.

I thought we were having fun drafting players for the upcoming season. Where does apathy come into play here? Are others wanting to quit this league too or is it mainly just YF? If there are others I think we should quit. I know I don't care to play 1973 if that is the last year of this league.

It is just me I guess, but we have been here and done that before. Taking a week to draft scrubs is crazy. You also know that the league will not fill by Friday night. I am feeling like I am wasting my time.

I have no intentions to quit this league or stop playing now! This theme and the managers in this league are probably the most fun I've ever had in SOM. What's a week to wait? Not that much.

I have no desire to see this league end at this point. I suppose I'm not quite as into this one as the other DD league but that's probably because we're in year 3 instead of year 15.

The frustration may be just with the draft. A small part of the draft problem may just be that we're finishing this draft on the heels of doing the DD draft and the DDDF draft (for those of us who are in 2 or 3 of the dd leagues). We could solve the draft problem simply by implementing a clock -- ie., 4 hours to make your pick once we 're in th 2nd round.

As for a new theme idea, I haven't got on one. These days I have no interest in playing any one-off seasons. I'm only interested in mystery card keeper leagues.

If I were to come up with an idea, I would like it to be a twist we could add to this league rather than starting a new one. Something like having a salary cap on the players you reserve from one season to the next. I don't know if something like that would enhance this one or not.

I know I have participated in several "real team" leagues with the 80's game done one of two ways. 1 - Only using players that show up in the by team free agent list for your team or 2 - Only players that have a majority of carded years for your team are elligible. Obviously option 1 is easier to keep up with but your players are not yours alone as they would show up on other team's lists too if they played for more than one team.

We could start a one season "real team" league in the 70's if there is any interest. I don't think I have done one of those before in the 70's. Maybe there are other interesting ideas that people can come up with.

I love this league and am fully committed... I'd marry it if I had a ring.

The clock for round 2 is a good idea. Do it so it takes no more than two days. People will need to proxy if they can't get in. I might even suggest that two rounds be the max even when more free agents are available.
