Cards are up!

No one knows for sure if Adams is in or out I don't think. He appeared in 37 games which seems like quite a few for a pitcher.

They haven't really excluded any pitcher over 25 innings though, especially a reliever. obviously no one has had this good a card.

I think he gets a card, but we'll see...

I say this every year, but I just wish they'd leave 'em all in and price em higher if they think the cards is THAT good...

I agree Adams gets a card. Two main reasons:

1) Like Niners said, very hard to exclude a guy who pitched 1/2 an RP season. Any hitter who hits for half a season is automatically in.

2) The pitcher cards with nothing on them get hit MUCH harder than you'd expect in these leagues. Gagne's card a few years ago was a good example. It was a 7M card if I recall but with 50% of rolls on a hitter card, and usually a good hitter card, it was generally impossible for him to match his real-life WHIP & ERA.

My understanding of "skewing game results" is not when someone puts up a great season, but when that season obliterates a major statistical category. E.g., this year I think in a hitter park Avila would hit 60+ HRs. That is game-skewing for someone who played basically 10% of a full season in real life. As an R1 with no closer rating, Adams will not skew the game in that way.

Well I for one hope Adams gets his card.

He was my top RP pick (and only my fourth pitcher overall) in a new keeper league I'm in.

Round 12 out of 40.

Please Bernie - don't leave me crying.

Payroll seems high?

Postby Danlovaj » Wed Feb 24, 2010 11:39 pm

Just a brief glance, but it seems payroll is very high...lots of >6million hitters...granted some of the cards may be culled in the OFFICIAL version...I bet $100 mil leagues will be even more popular...(I remember seeing somewhere there now is a salary cap that was somewhere between 100 and 200??? 150 million perhaps?)

3) Adams isn't exactly a one-year wonder. He excelled in 2008 too, ending up with a 3.87M card.

The new payroll option is $140M. I don't see it being that popular because you don't have the depth like in ATG.

I agree with this.

Some of the prices are changing. One example I noticed was Figgins. Yesterday Figgins was 7.24mil, he's 6.76mil today. Interesting....
