Kingman could hsve hsd 600 HR is it wasn't for some poor seasons. But then, 500+ HR and only 11oo RBI tells me that if Dave wasn;t driving himself in, we wasn't driving in others

Bob Watson - Lets see.....all-time leader in BA and OBP. 8th best SLG and 4th OPS. Virtually no love for our HOF.

Tom Seaver is the all-time ERA leader, 5th in WHIP, 6th in Ks, still on the outside looking in. Counting stats are important.

Carew, Concepcion, Grich, Kingman, Simmons, Thomas will all get my consideration. Not sure if any of the newly retired pitchers will though.

Kingman is an interesting case. Four sub .200 seasons, but five or six 50+ HR seasons and a 65 HR season to close his career out.

all the love goes to sluggers who can't hit .200 and nothing for all-around players like Bob Watson? :roll: You would think that for all the talk about Watson that he was one of my players. He never played for me at all. I just think he is very deserving and our HOF should be more than just HR hitters.

I have no love for Kingman...HRs and nothing. Not sure what Watson is shunned year after year, but he needs an advocate.

Kingman is dead to me. That is why I cut him back in '73.

As for Watson, Randy is very persuasive. My problem is that he played 2 other seasons but was cut with dog manure statistics. Isn't there a way to find out what those stats were? If so, I will add in and look at Watson's full body of work.

This the the crux of the Waston issue. What do these seasons do to down grade him. My guess is not much because the number of ABs were most likely low. That being said. If he was so great his owner would have carried him through the bad seasons. Take Kingman for an example. He was three season where he stunk up the place, but remains in the roster. That could be due to price, or other factors. Both Dave and Bob field equally badly.
