Carlos Zambrano $8 million

Carlos Zambrano $8 million

Postby WALLACEWILKALIS » Mon Mar 20, 2006 6:05 pm

Does anyone think Zambrano is over priced at $8 million? Seems like he gives up alot of walks. Against lefties, he is not to impressive.

Thanks.

Walks is ok in my league as I'm in Coors. And my division is predominantly righty hitters so I guess he's good for me. He is expensive though.

With so many hitters park obsessed players out there, he's only worth it in a pitchers' park with those 4 BPHRs vs L. Just like RJ vs R - he'll be great in Petco.

Keep in mind Zambrano has a * vs - L for BP singles.

Yes but those BPHRs are on 2 and 3...less likely to come up. I have two pitchers parks in my division so I think he may still be useful. If not, I'll work out a trade hopefully.

Are you saying that a BPHR would be less apt to come up with this card:

#2- 2- #2-
3- #3- 3-
4- 4- 4-
5- 5- 5-
6- 6- 6-
7- 7- 7-
8- 8- 8-
9- 9- 9-
10- 10- 10-
11- 11- 11-
12 12- 12-

and a BPHR would be more likely to come up in this card?

2- 2- 2-
3- 3- 3-
4- 4- 4-
5- #5- 5-
6- 6- 6-
7- 7- 7-
8- 8- 8-
9- 9- 9-
10- 10- 10-
11- 11- 11-
12 12- 12-

Or, are you saying that 4 BPHRs shouldn't be something to worry about cause at least it's not 8 BPHRs. :)

Having one BPHR on #5 would give you the same chance as having three BPHR's on 2, 3, 2 wouldn't it?

I'm not seeing the ballpark homerun on 5. :? There is a regular homerun on 5 but only with a roll of 1-11.

I don't know the mathematical formula, etc. to know if the answer to your question is true or not but I would assume, no. Hopefully someone else will know. Still...he has a pretty good card...considering my division is pitchers park slanted.

Crazy,

I think Wavy was asking a rhetorical question in regards to your statement that Z's BPHR's came on 2 & 3 & 2 and were "less likely to come up".

He's showing a "sample" card with BPHR on 5 to illistrate that the odds would be the same.
